Becks' Market is a family-owned and operated grocery store, nestled southwest of Greenville, OH, offering a pleasant selection of food and a fun shopping experience. Our Story

Becks' Market is a family-owned grocery store nestled southwest of Greenville, Ohio, offering a shopping experience that’s anything but ordinary. More than just a place to pick up food, Becks' Market brings together a country grocery, deli lunch stop, bulk food center, discount hotspot, and local convenience store -- all under one roof! A family atmosphere, friendly personnel, quality products, and lots of bargains, make Becks' a must-visit destination in western Ohio. Neighbors can shop, mingle with friends, discover something new, and enjoy the experience of FUN shopping, BIG savings, and GOOD service.



The seeds of Becks’ Market were sown during the 20th century... "My grandparents raised and sold what they could — some meat, eggs, vegetables, baked goods — at markets in eastern Pennsylvania. Like many folks, they struggled through the Great Depression and war years to make a living. My father was just a poor, Pennsylvania Dutch farm boy when he was drafted to fight in the Korean War. After returning, Dad's sight was set on horticulture and retail; he basically started from scratch." (Mike Beck, owner)



By the 1970s, Mike's parents (Oscar and Gladys) had begun planting Christmas trees, as well as growing produce to sell at their roadside farm market. Gradually, the family effort turned into a well-known, commercial wholesale/retail tree operation in the area. Mike admits, "Growing up in that unique setting was a valuable experience. When I later began my own business as an electrician, I guess I never got away from farm and retail roots."



Mike and his wife Dinah eventually settled in Ohio, and in 2017, the passion for family retail resurfaced when the Becks began selling homemade baked goods and fry pies at regional farmers' markets. As their business (“Someone’s in the Kitchen”) and children grew, so did the vision of creating a permanent, year-round destination for shoppers wanting quality food at good prices — along with the kind of traditional, farmers' market service that makes community feel like home. In 2024, encouraged by many supportive friends and family, the Becks broke ground for their new store. "The store has our name on it," Mike says, "but we hardly own it. We're here because many others sacrificed."

Our aim wasn't to win a contest. While being recognized is okay, what's far nicer is that, each week, we're blessed with a new opportunity to serve such a supportive community of neighbors and friends! Our simple goal? To provide good food, fair prices, and friendly service -- all in the welcoming setting of a country, family business.

Outside Sale Days at Becks’ Market are something special. 🌾

The last Thursday through Saturday of each month, April through October (weather permitting), we bring the market outside for a few days of fresh, open air fun.

Look for good deals, a little bit of this and that, and familiar faces... the kind of days where you run into neighbors, stay longer than you planned, and leave with a little more appreciation of simple country living.

We offer premium and discount groceries, fresh produce, breads, deli meats and cheeses, made-to-order sandwiches, deli trays, creamery milk and ice cream, local eggs and poultry, homegrown products, handmade furniture, and more.
What makes Becks’ Market unique?
Here at Becks', fun country shopping, big savings, and friendly service all come together. We sell quality foods at competitive, budget-friendly pricing.
When does the deli close?
The deli closes 30 minutes before the store, so be sure to plan ahead! Call in your deli order early for quick and easy pickup.
How often does Becks’ Market run sales and specials?
Becks’ Market regularly offers a variety of sales, promotions, and limited time specials. You can expect weekly homemade treats along with seasonal favorites such as fresh sourdough bread, cinnamon rolls, and fry pies that are available on specific days. For the newest deals and updates, join Becks' Texts, follow us on Facebook, and subscribe to "MARK-IT DOWN," our biweekly email.
Do you guarantee your products?
Yes. Because we sell some discount groceries, some items are PAST "BEST BY" DATE and some containers are DAMAGED. However, whether the items are premium regular stock or "bent-n-dent," we assure product quality and customer satisfaction is our aim. Replacement or refund within 30 days with receipt.
What kind of payments do you accept besides cash?
Check, Credit & debit cards, and SNAP. We also accept contactless payment forms
Do you have a sale flyer?
Yes! Every other week, we post a new ad here and on Facebook featuring our latest specials and deals.
Do you offer clearance discounts?
Yes! We sometimes have clearance sales, such as 50% off seasonal items like bulk snacks and candy. These deals are available while supplies last.
What is the Bent-N-Dent section?
Becks’ Market is also a discount store, offering bent-and-dent or salvage groceries at great prices. Inventory changes often, so what’s here today might not be here next week.
How do you market your discount groceries?
As much as possible, whether dry, cooler, or frozen goods, we try to display our surplus "salvage" groceries in separate areas from our regular grade stock items, so that consumers can shop according to their interest or discretion."
